STUDY ABROAD
Quebec, Canada: The Walking Studio Montréal -2024
The Walking Studio: Montréal introduced students to hands-on methods and applied theories for art-based fieldwork, locational engagement, and socially-responsible practices. By studying at Montréal’s landmark cultural sites, including public art spaces, galleries, museums, city parks, and archives, students explored how the material conditions of urban identity can become both sites and subjects of contemporary art. Along the way, students developed art and/or art history research projects as they moved through the city, responding to Montréal’s material and environmental conditions and social formations.

ADJACENT BUSINESS EXPERIENCE
Specialty Coach, Trainer, and Manager, Best Buy Co.- Portland, Oregon, Gresham, Oregon, Vancouver, Washington, Bloomington, Illinois, Chicagoland Area, Illinois, 2004-2021
- I created a training and mentoring program for aspiring leaders and an Employee Leadership Forum. I have trained and managed specialized sales and service fulfillment teams in-store and in the field. This led to the creation of a new role as a Specialty Coach, who performs specialized Assessments and Training programs for new management in the Specialty Sales Manager role, as well as for underperforming locations, to assist in problem-solving, retraining, and recognition. Advocate for multiple tests and initiatives in both sales and services, training local and regional leadership through single and multiple-day sessions.
- I fought for job growth, access, diversity, and inclusion at a time when the company was too conservative and patriarchal to make changes to match demographics and meet the demands of clients where they live. I helped create SOPs as part of the Services Safety Council, the Computer Sales Council, the Corporate Sales Network, and the Mobile/Specialty Managers Corporate Network.
- I collaborated with multiple corporate networks on in-the-field partnerships in test markets, implementing new processes, troubleshooting, field communications and feedback, strategy, marketing, data privacy, and preparing for drive time. I communicated with, trained, and developed curriculum for, and/or partnered with, corporate partners, regional leaders, multiple vendors, whole stores, and various departments. I have also organized, created, and maintained needs-based scheduling for staff, appointments, and services.
